Fake social media campaign in motion against BJP

What we call ‘fake news’ is misinformation that people usually fall for. With social media becoming so main stream in learning news and information, we have a problem that was never faced.

In a recent investigation, we discovered that a variety of images, claiming to compare the revised rates before and after the GST, are actually fakes. With the help of our experts we found that most of them were photoshopped and shared via the social sites like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp etc. Apparently there is no stopping this trend as most of them seem to be going against the BJP camp, especially since there are many upcoming elections on the threshold.

Ever since the BJP government came into rule the many social media platforms have never gone dry on a meme or a subject to run their mouths on and on against the government. We think the whole situation may get a lot uglier with now the Congress camp, especially the Rahul Gandhi team, is floating Gabbar Singh memes from their Twitter handle @OfficeOfRG; post the recent Gujarat tour.

Spreading such misinformation through pictures, memes and GIF images will only cause the government to lose the good name, even though they are trying their best to serve well.

Polluting various social media networks with misinformation will result in paranoia among the people. Putting a stopper to the spread may be impossible or an uphill battle, but trying not to spread such things is the least we can do to help the BJP government.
