Sripriyaa Kumaria, the Director General of India Trade and Exhibition Centre (ITEC), in Sharjah is a well known organizer , idealist and principled administrator. She is the one who played the key role in establishing the ITEC in Sharjah . And perhaps it is because of this fact, along with other factors like her abilities to organize and selfless service that prompted the Board of Trustees to designate her to head the Centre as its Director General.
It was only because of the unstinted efforts of Sripriyaa Kumariaa that the ITEC in Sharjah got ready for inauguration in November 2010, by the then Honorable President of India Smt. Prathibha Devi Singh Patil and HH. Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. Ever since she took over as the Director General of ITEC, Sripriyaa Kumariaa has been making all out efforts to ensure that the various projects initiated by the organization become successful. The Indian Business Leaders Forum (IBLF), which is an association of real time business leaders is founded with the sole objective of building ‘BRAND INDIA’.
She chartered her career through, after taking a Masters Degree in Business Administration. To begin with she entered the Fashion Industry as Brand Manager and spend almost 2 years working in that position. Later she joined the Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC) in Sharjah as its Co-coordinator and had a long innings with it. ‘It was her long stint with IBPC that led to the establishment of India Trade and Exhibition Centre (ITEC) in Sharjah’.
It was her long stint with IBPC that led to the establishment of India Trade and Exhibition Centre (ITEC) in Sharjah, which ultimately brought her to the heights of her career. It was after 14 years of meritorious service in Sharjah doing various developmental activities, that the highly responsible position of Director General of ITEC has been shouldered by her.
While serving the India Business and Professional Council (IBPC) in Sharjah, as its Co-coordinator , she was managing the entire affairs of the Council and its affiliated bodies. And today, the Council has 11 affiliated bodies namely AKMG, IPPC, IIQS, IGS, IAP, EBCI, ISG, SIE, IBA & SILA with thousands of members. One of her main objectives while taking the initiative to launch the magazine was to boost the activities of India Business and Professional Council (IBPC) in Sharjah.
As opposed to many female Directors and counterparts, typically employed with ‘profit centre’s’, Sripriyaa choose her career path to dedicate her time and efforts and associate herself with a ‘not for profit organization’. With this objective in mind, she was planning to face the challenges of transforming a startup namely the India Trade and Exhibition Centre (ITEC) into a financially viable model, especially when the mandate is to serve the Indian business community for which the Centre has been established. Sripriyaa spends her free time with family and 2 young children. She is very keen on fitness and outdoor sports.
