Journey to the true self

“Value your time and others as well. Be a team person, at the same time value your team members’ time as well. Continue to be curious. Believe in your intuition, and vision, and empower empire builders”

Shwetha Ashwin, hospitality specialist at HomeStay Delight and Orbit Hotels, has always been a proponent of striking the chord of motivation in life, and has been subconsciously inspiring others on the way to do the same. She says, “I was married at the age of 22 and had been a housewife for nearly 10 years, which resulted in my self-esteem going down drastically. I took the opportunity to show myself and the world the real self. I started off with a small venture, took it to the next level and more projects are in the pipeline, where the company profile will grow big in a few years.”

The successful Shwetha, today looks back and tells her younger self, “Work hard for it, or you are not worth it. Either, you can be the shark of the ocean or the fish of the ocean. All right, we have to be the shark. Take over everything. With strength, consistency and dedication, you got to come in here and dominate. When you say, ‘Oh, there is something wrong’, don’t put yourself down. Motivate yourself, keep yourself ready for any challenge.”

Most often, adversities bring out the best in you. “Sometimes you have to get knocked down lower than you have ever been to stand back up taller than you ever were. You learn more from failure than from success. Don’t let it stop you. For me, every setback is an opportunity for an even greater comeback. I never let success get to my head or failures get to my heart.”

Shwetha goes on to say that the best learning experiences she has had is, “Value your time and others as well. Be a team person, at the same time value your team members’ time as well. Continue to be curious. Believe in your intuition, and vision, and empower empire builders.”

She says that one must go out of the way, when it comes to pursuing his or her goal.

She concludes, “Your team is your family. They are the ones who work hard to make my vision come true. From the security guard to the CEO, everyone works hard for you. Treat them as your family and show them love, affection and compassion, and everything else will fall into its place.”
